Surviving Raine by Shay Savage

17447588

As the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. Interacting with people isn’t his thing, and he prefers the company of a bottle of vodka, a shot glass, and maybe a whore. There’s no doubt he’s hiding from a checkered past, but he does well keeping everything to himself…

…until the night his schooner capsizes, and he’s stuck on a life raft with one of the passengers.

Raine’s young, she’s cute, and Bastian would probably be into her if he wasn’t suffering from alcohol withdrawal. As the days pass, DTs, starvation, and dehydration become the norm. Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he’s going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it’s no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned.

He has no idea how he’s going to Survive Raine.

REVIEW:
5 out of 5 Stars

Now, as you dolls know, I rarely give out 5 stars. In fact, I think for a story to be perfect it has to speak to me on an other platform type of emotional level. I have to finish knowing that numerous pages have dried tears on them or a smile that will keep me going for the rest of the week. This book? This book is one of my newest favorite books ever and the fact that I found it when it has a sequel actually brings joy to my heart. A sequel I have already ordered even though this was sent to me. Now I do not want to give too much away but this story is about a man named Sebastian and how he is lost at sea on tiny life raft with a girl named Raine. The things that happen when they reach a deserted island and the ways that they have to survive continues to shock me as I recount what I read. I mean at this point, it's overwhelming what they went through and the love story between such a broken man and a woman who heals him from the inside out will bring nothing but warmth to your heart. It's an intense story that I do recommend for those over the ages of 16, maybe even 18. It's not erotica but the language does get pretty inappropriate. The writing.. the writing.. oh my gosh.. Shay Savage is one of my new favorite writers. The woman is a gold mind and has fingers that write magic! I am so in love and so excited to read the second that I am URGING YOU to get this book and read it! And since it's in a man's point a view and we never really get to know what Raine is thinking in her head, your boyfriends and/or guy friends could read it too all while loving it. I'm telling you, this refreshing book with a different perspective will keep you guess and falling in love from page to page. Please read it and PLEASE PLEASE tell me that you loved it just as much as I did! Thank you Shay! I am utterly and insanely in love with Sebastian! A new book boyfriend!
